Find Them is a free app that helps neighbors find missing children, adults in someone's care, and lost pets. It is not a replacement for police: for a missing person, call 911 first. This policy explains what the app collects, who sees it, and how to delete it.
| Information | Why | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Your Google account sign-in (name and email address) | To create your account and keep the app to real people | Only the app's administrator |
| The name you choose | Shown on your posts and sightings | People who see your posts; the poster, for your sightings |
| Birth month and year | Find Them is for ages 13 and older | Only you and the administrator |
| A post: photo, name, description, where and when last seen, optional contact info, police report number | To help people nearby recognize and find them | Everyone signed in to Find Them near that spot |
| A sighting: where and when, your note, optional photo | To tell the poster where they were seen | Only the person who posted, and you |
| Your location while using the app | To show posts near you and to fill in "last seen" / "seen at" places | Not stored, except inside a post or sighting you send |
| Reports of posts | So an administrator can review misuse | Only the administrator |
| The list of people you've blocked (their account id and name) | So their posts and sightings stop showing to you | Only you (and the administrator); the blocked person isn't told |
Posts come down automatically after 14 days unless the poster keeps them up. When a post is marked found, its photo and all its sightings are deleted. You can delete any of your posts at any time.
We do not sell or rent your information, show ads, or share it with advertisers or data brokers. Data is stored with Google Firebase (Google LLC), which runs the app's sign-in and database. When you choose "Share", you decide where the post goes. We may disclose information if required by law.
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest by Google Firebase. Database security rules limit each piece of information to the people listed above.
In the app: Home → Delete my account. That permanently deletes your profile, every post you made (with photos and sightings), the sightings you sent, your blocked list, and your sign-in account. Without the app, see how to request deletion.
Accounts are for people 13 and older. Posts about a missing child can only be made by a parent, guardian or family member who has reported it to police.
Our child safety standards say what is never allowed, how to report a concern, and what we do about it.
